LEMURS

Make your voice heard about suicide prevention on campus!
The Center for Accelerating Practices to End Suicide through Technology Translation (CAPES) housed at UMass Medical Center is conducting a study, Leveraging Early Mental health Uncovering Risk for Suicide (LEMURS) through UMass Amherst and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The goal of this project is to refine our team’s pioneering mobile health app to develop an automated system that uses passive data streams to monitor risk for college student mental health crisis and suicidal thoughts and behaviors.
We want frontline expertise in understanding what clinicians and staff need to make suicide risk screening more useful. According to your SONA response, you are eligible to participate in our study! Would you be willing to participate in a series of demonstrations and brief interviews with our study staff?
You are eligible for this study if you:
  • Are 18 years or older
  • Are a student at [UMass/WPI]
  • Are fluent in English
  • Able to consent
  • Have an android smartphone and are willing to download an app
You will be compensated for up to $276 for your time.
If you are still interested, please reply to this email and we will schedule you a 30 minute consent session where we will give you a detailed overview of the study, as well as schedule the next steps.
Please contact Connie (cmaerker@umass.edu) if you have any questions and thank you for working with us to save student lives.
